Adrian Peterson, one of the top Fantasy Football players, on whom the Vikings rely, got injured in Vikings win over Redskins. He is suffering from torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) as well as MCL (medial collateral ligament). However, immediately after the match, Peterson’s injury was declared as a sprain by Vikings. It was Dejon Gomes who collapsed his left knee with a great blow when there were still 14 minutes and 40 seconds remaining in the third quarter. He could not put weight on his leg hence he was helped by players from both the teams to get off the field. For the first time in his career of five years, he will be short of 1000 yards despite rushing of 970 yards plus 38 yards of Saturday’s game. Till his recovery, he is replaced by Toby Gerhart who is 2nd round pick from last year. He is a very good player, who runs with balance and is powerful. Toby Gerhart broke loose for 67 yards gain which is the longest season of the team. Despite the fact, that Gerhart has no comparison to Adrian Peterson but still it is a fact that he is a good starter with incomparable back up.
Before the season, Adrian Peterson has signed a $100 million and seven year extension. Therefore, one should hope that he is as exceptional player as he was before his injury. This is because even after recovery injuries greatly affect players’ ability to play, thereby dropping them down from their rank.
